This experience is set in the authentic river life of Hoi An fishermen – where the new day begins while it's still dark and the river is calm. You won't just be observing; you'll join the fishermen on their small boats, listening to them share stories about casting their nets and patiently waiting for the catch, a testament to years of accumulated experience. Each catch of mackerel may not be large, but it's substantial, reflecting the strong bond between people and the river.
What you'll get to experience with us
You visit a small riverside house belonging to a local fisherman. After a few simple greetings, you step into his world — joining him on a small wooden boat to haul in the rớ chồ nets he set earlier. You feel the weight of the catch and listen to the water ripple softly beneath the hull. Unhurried and quiet, the experience unfolds at its own pace, showing you that river life is not just about fishing — it is about patience and a lifelong bond with the Hoi An river.

- 1Welcome guests & Introduce activities15mFocus on the meeting point. Before starting, you will hear an introduction about the profession of 'rớ chồ' - a traditional fishing method using nets hung between rivers, closely associated with the life of fishermen in Hoi An.
- 2Dragging experience30mYou will climb up the bamboo hut in the middle of the river, perform the action of releasing the fishing net, then patiently wait for the fish and shrimp to get caught in the net in the peaceful river setting. While waiting for the fish to be caught, you can paddle the boat around the area, explore the water coconut forest, and listen to the fishermen tell stories of their daily lives - a relaxing moment, close to nature (suggestion).
- 3Enjoy the results & End15mWhen the net is pulled up, you will personally harvest your "spoils of war" - the fish, fresh shrimp just caught in the net. You can request the host to support processing (separate cost). At the end of the journey, an authentic experience awaits.
