What makes this experience unique?
Following Tangôn Bưng — a local Cơ Tu man — on a simple morning, the walk up to his fields starts with no plan at all. No schedule, no preparation — just him wanting someone to walk and talk with, since he usually goes alone. The path goes through terraced fields, into the forest, along small trails he knows by heart. Things just happen as they normally do here. He walks, talks, and sometimes stops to show which plants can be eaten, which leaves can be used as medicine. He used to work at the local health station, and you can feel that calm, steady way about him in how he speaks and looks at things. A day at his garden is made of small, familiar tasks: pulling cassava to feed the ducks, tossing food to the fish, checking around to see if any snakes have come in to eat the newly laid eggs. Simple things, repeated every day. Back at the garden, he catches fish from the pond behind the house, makes a wood fire, and cooks a meal from whatever is around. Vegetables picked nearby, fish just caught, rice cooking in a quiet space surrounded by terraced fields. When it gets hot, he picks green tea leaves and boils them — a light, slightly bitter drink that feels fresh and cooling. The meal is simple, but feels easy and clean. Sitting down together, talking about everyday life, the forest, his time at the health station — nothing fancy, just real and close. This isn’t a set-up travel experience. Just a day lived the local way. Come to understand nature. Come to be closer to people. And leave with a light, easy kind of feeling.
