Vo Duc Thi selects wood that has been around for many years, gently tapping the grain to listen to the sound before beginning to carve. He doesn't rush, he doesn't use excessive force, because each piece of wood has its own direction. At Vo Duc Thi's workshop, you often work slower than you think. The craftsman doesn't talk much about technique, but he will show you how to "listen" to the wood: if you carve too hard, the grain will crack; if you carve too quickly, the lines will lose their naturalness. With each stroke, the product gradually emerges, not perfect from the start, but authentic—little by little.

Stepping into the woodworking workshop, a faint, earthy scent of old wood permeates the air, mingling with the rhythmic chiseling sounds echoing in the tranquil space. Sitting in the cool, airy workshop, overlooking the silently flowing Thu Bon River, you are guided by the craftsman to become a true "mini-artisan." Carving your own name or simple patterns onto a piece of natural rosewood – rustic, subtly fragrant, and distinctly Vietnamese – you feel each stroke of the hand, each grain of wood. As you work, conversations revolve around the craft, about patience, and how the craftsman slows down to listen to the material. When sawdust settles around your feet, you suddenly realize: what you take home is not just a small item, but the feeling of having truly touched the spirit of Kim Bong woodworking.

- 1Get acquainted and learn basic techniques.You will be guided attentively by skilled craftsmen, from surface treatment to intricate carving of every detail. This is a rare experience that helps you fully appreciate the skill, patience, and artistic soul of the carpenters from Quang region.
- 2Carve your own mark.After being instructed by the master craftsman on the basic engraving techniques with a specialized knife, you will personally carve the first lines on a piece of natural rough wood - it could be a name, pattern, or symbol with its own meaning. Each engraving not only shows meticulousness and creativity but also preserves your emotions and personal stories in each rustic piece of wood.
- 3Complete and receive handmade souvenir gifts.After completion, your product will be meticulously polished by artisans, smoothing the surface of the wood and adding threads to turn it into a cute little keychain. Each detail retains its rustic and delicate features, becoming a meaningful souvenir with the distinctive mark of Hoi An - simple yet profound.

Terms & Conditions
- Age & health condition: Suitable for all ages; adults assist children when using the equipment; not recommended for people with hand injuries or limited hand/wrist mobility.
- Clothing & personal equipment: Wear comfortable clothes, avoid loose sleeves; wear sandals/slippers with back straps. Encouraged to bring personal water, wet wipes; the workshop provides all necessary safety equipment for you.
- Skills or experience required: No experience required; suitable for beginners. The technician will demonstrate the process and guide you through each step to complete your own work.
- Safety policy & companionship: Sharp tools are handed over with control; children always need adult supervision. Technicians will closely monitor throughout the experience.
- Additional notes / special restrictions: The timing can be flexible according to your schedule (please inform in advance to arrange the guide). The content of the experience focuses on basic engraving; complex requests (exquisite patterns, engraving on specific objects) need to be discussed in advance for consultation.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancel before 24 hours (1 day): Free.
- In case of force majeure (safety incidents, workshop operation issues), the schedule may be changed to suitable hours or refunded 100%.
Child Policy
- Under 6 years old: Must be accompanied by an adult and supervised regularly in the operating area.
- From 6-11 years old: Can participate in simple carving steps with age-appropriate tools, under the guidance of artisans and adults.
- From 12 years old and above: Participate as an adult following the standard safety instructions of the workshop.
