Stepping into a lantern workshop in the heart of the old town, you'll be greeted by the scent of fresh bamboo, the gentle sound of scissors cutting fabric, and the tranquil, unhurried atmosphere of the craft. Local artisans guide you through each step: selecting the lantern base, choosing the fabric color, gluing, and adjusting the folds to ensure the lantern maintains its harmonious shape. Your hands directly touch the rustic materials, feeling the meticulousness and patience of traditional craftsmanship. When the lantern is finished, a soft light spreads, bringing with it the joy of creating a truly "Hoi An" product with your own hands. The experience concludes with you taking home your own lantern, a vivid memory of the old town.

The artisan will introduce an overview of the history of Hoi An lanterns, the cultural significance of each shape, color, and how the people here have preserved the craft through generations. You can choose a frame according to your preference: diamond shape, triangle, circle, cylinder,...
- 2Cut, paste lanterns & Decorate1hThe most interesting part is sticking silk fabric, decorating patterns, choosing colors, and embellishing details according to personal preferences. You can freely create on the traditional frame, creating a lamp with your own unique imprint.
- 3Complete the finished product & Take photos30mComplete the artwork and take souvenir photos with the finished product in the colorful space of Hoi An. The product is then neatly packaged, you can take it back as a gift or a meaningful cultural journey souvenir.
What You Need to Know
Terms & Conditions
- Age & health condition: Suitable for all ages.
- Clothing & personal equipment: Should wear comfortable, easy-to-move clothes as you may need to handle glue and fabric during lantern making.
- Skills or experience required: Not mandatory.
- Additional notes / special restrictions: You can choose the fabric color, pattern, or shape of the lampshade (round, octagonal, pumpkin...) according to your preference with the specified size of 30cm.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancel for free within 48 hours (2 days) from the time of booking.
- Cancel within 24 hours (1 day) or no show: 100% fee
- If the workshop changes the schedule or the weather is not favorable, customers can change the schedule or get a full refund.
Child Policy
- Suitable for children aged 5 and above.
- Children aged 5 and above participate: Apply 100% fee.
