Stirring and watching the heat is constant work—too hot, and the color blurs; too cool, and the fibers won’t absorb. Hands stay wet, skin stained, and sitting long is part of the rhythm. Each plant and season determines the color for clothes, scarves, or woven items; choosing and preparing materials is knowledge passed down through generations, tied to daily life. The cloth is used for wearing, offerings, gifts, or household items, so every small step has practical meaning. The smell of leaves, ash, damp earth, insect sounds, and wind through the roof remind that the dye and fibers are inseparable from nature, and repeating the work each season keeps the craft and community memory alive.

The indigo dyeing experience at Sung village (Cao Son commune, Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province) is a unique community tourism activity, bringing visitors closer to the traditional handicraft of the Dao Tien people. Here, you will learn about the process of making indigo paste from natural indigo plants and practice the dyeing steps to create the characteristic blue color on the fabric - the material associated with the costumes of the Dao Tien people. - 1Welcoming the group & Introducing the profession of dyeing chàm.Travelers are welcomed at the meeting point, then taken to Sung village to meet local artisans. They will introduce the history, significance, and process of indigo dyeing - a distinctive cultural feature of the people here.
- 2Technical guidance & Dyeing practice.Local residents directly guide how to prepare dyeing cham medicine, prepare fabric and dipping techniques to create even, beautiful colors. Tourists are allowed to dip fabric by themselves, experience the multi-step process for perfect color absorption.
- 3Complete & Receive the product.After dyeing, the fabric is dried and completed under the guidance of the locals. Tourists receive the finished products - vibrant blue fabrics, rich in the cultural identity of Sung village.

Cancellation after 168 hours (7 days) will lose 40% of the fee
