The cotton woven into fabric is not just raw material but tied to practical needs and community rituals. The cloth is used for daily clothing, children’s garments, household items, and sometimes for ceremonies, offerings, or gifts. Its quality and color reflect the harvest season, weather, and type of cotton picked. Participating in the weaving process makes you aware of each step—from planting and picking cotton to preparing threads—and highlights the connection between nature, human labor, and the daily and traditional needs of the community.
What you'll get to experience with us
Experiencing brocade weaving in Ban Sung (Cao Son commune, Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province) is a unique community tourism activity, bringing visitors closer to the traditional culture of the Dao Tien people. Here, you will learn about the brocade weaving process from brightly colored fabric threads, directly participate in the practice and feel the sophistication in each weaving stitch - an important part of the spiritual and economic life of local people
Plan
- 1Welcoming & Introduction.Travelers are welcomed at the meeting point and taken to Sung village, where they meet Dao Tien women - skilled silk weavers. They introduce the history, meaning, and steps in the traditional weaving profession.
- 2Observation & Weaving practice.Under the attentive guidance of local people, tourists observe and try their hand at the handloom frame. You learn how to tie threads, thread the shuttle, and use the heddle bars to weave traditional patterns. This is an opportunity to experience the skill, patience, and memory required in the profession.
- 3Complete & Receive the product.After completing the piece of fabric, the product is removed from the loom frame. Tourists can receive their finished product

- Clothing: Light clothing, may be stained with indigo
- Patient and eager to learn
- Not suitable for people allergic to natural ingredients from indigo
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation after 168 hours (7 days) will lose 40% of the fee
Child Policy
- Under 6 years old: Not recommended to participate
- From 6–10 years old: Must be accompanied and supervised by an adult
